Farnsworth became depressed, and revealed to the crew that he had been lying about his age it was actually his 160th birthday, and he had reached the age where robots from the Sunset Squad take people away, never to be seen again. ![]() Farnsworth.Ĭubert turned out not to be as Farnsworth expected, however he saw a future as an inventor as unappealing, and made several snide comments about the professor’s work. Fry, Farnsworth took this opportunity to reveal that he had created a clone of himself 12 years prior, named Cubert J. Though many among the Planet Express crew thought it should be one of them, likely Philip J. This event lead the Kennedy administration to commission Project Wideawake, and on the other side of the political spectrum, strengthened the convictions of Partridge’s followers. On April 10, 1963, Oswald completed the job, shooting Partridge in the head with a rifle as he sat at his kitchen table. Lehnsherr recruited 24-year-old Marine Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate Partridge. He had begun subtly slipping allusions to mutants into his speeches as early as 1961, attracting the attention of violent mutant rights activist Erik Lehnsherr, also known as Magneto. Partridge was active in the Dallas, Texas political scene, speaking at right-wing rallies and stoking the flames of segregation. The rumors were largely dismissed, but some, including retired US Army Major General Edwin Partridge, were believers. During that year’s Cuban Missile Crisis, rumors of “beings with fantastic and dangerous superpowers” began circulating, fueled by eyewitness accounts of naval officers present. Though vastly more qualified for leadership, her stern, authoritarian style did not compliment the mission of the UMP neither did it sit well with the rest of the ship’s crew of losers. Much to the chagrin of both, Lipinski was assigned his older sister as a First Officer. His happy-go-lucky, people-pleasing attitude would set the tone for his captainship. His enthusiasm carried him through the academy and upon graduation landed him the command of a ship. Though living in an era where, after 50 years of the interstellar Universal Mapping Project has found nothing of note, space is considered boring by a disinterested public, Lipinski remained a space exploration fanboy. Harrison issued a mayday and ordered evasive action, but it was too late just after midnight on January 1, 1973, as the passengers in the dining room celebrated the new year, the wave hit the SS Poseidon, capsizing the vessel, and leaving it to sink upside down. Late in the evening, Harrison received a report of an undersea earthquake from the direction of Crete, and the ship’s lookout reported a huge tidal wave approaching at 60 knots. #Ss poseidon fullDespite Captain Harrison’s protests, fearing for the safety of the aging vessel and its passengers, the ship’s owners insisted it continue ahead at full speed, roughly 26 knots, to save money. The SS Poseidon, a luxury liner on the cusp of retirement and scrapping, made its way from New York to Athens as the new year approached. ![]()
